Everybody needs to stop and recharge their “battery” that fuels them, so they can continue and give to others.
Nick F Belman, veteran who served in Vietnam and now retired enjoying his Red, White & Blue Sundae at Farrell’s. The manager also surprised both of us and hand delivered a $10 gift certificate to him, thanking him that he protected our country.
What an awesome company that they think that way to create a promotion like that.
Afterwards, earlier a nice lady who ran one of the rides at the fair nearby told me to check it out. The fair in Brea off Fir & Brea Blvd raised money for a local Catholic church nearby. (St Angela I believe), walking distance from the hotel I am staying at. I am still on a hunt for a room share situation either in Orange County or
Los Angeles County, Hollywood area. We had some fun at the fair, Nick bought me a statuary vase to paint. It was really relaxing and expressing myself through art was not something I had done for many years. I am far from Vincent Van Gogh, but the idea of art is not to compete with any other but to express yourself and the passions in your soul on the tips of a paintbrush, in this case. If I had more time, I could have had a ball with it. My simple vase reads “Life” “Love” “Live” with some pink and red flowers with green leaves. A little girl sat across from me and saw what I did and created her own version. I am happy I inspired her creation.
I will put a photo of my little vase here later when I figure out how to get the best picture of it.
There is a wonderful writer editor position I applied for in which, if hired, I would be able to live in a beautiful wood-paneled cabin in the Hollywood hills, with a view of what looks like the forest-for free. I hope I get a phone call on that today. I will still keep looking. If any of you have a room for rent, room share tip in a nice non smoking, no drama place in a safe neighborhood I can walk around taking buses, call me at 714 728 6037. To hell with emails. Due to me having so many emails in my box, I missed an amazing opportunity because the thing was hidden for 3 days in a spam box!
Moi sitting on a beautiful wood bench I spotted that had a wood trellis around and over it with small flowers that were trained to climb it. I saw it as the perfect photo spot when I walked by from my hotel. I did an hour of searching on my phone with the Local app for a hotel that had only good ratings, with wifi, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, microwave, desk for me to write, safe & peaceful area close to stores & shopping with bus lines. Of all the hotels I have stayed at ________ and its 3 Diamond Award rating, is the best for the money. The manager is really awesome. When and if you need something, he is there. It is clean, the fixtures are new and they give soaps, shampoo and the nicest body lotion every day when maid service comes. The lotion is so good, it compares to my Benefit by Ulta!
For me it was to go with my friend Nick and go to Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant. This is a place full of families having a good time but not going broke doing so.
We split their 1/3 pound Kosher Nathan Dog with Chili & Cheese and had the best Garlic Fries with Parmesan I ever had. I am glad I asked Michael our awesome waiter if it was large enough to split; it was!

Farrell’s honored veterans all last month, and yesterday was the last day anyone who served in the military got a free Red White & Blue Sundae. They brought one out for Nick, since he served in Vietnam, and he was surprised and loved each bite of strawberries and blueberries, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. I had one scoop of chocolate malted crunch ice cream. (Their ice cream is so rich one scoop does it for me, and I usually choose ice milk or frozen yogurt, but one good splurge now and then is a good thing.) Splurging keeps me on my right track of eating healthier-more veggies etc., by not denying me anything-just everything in moderation.
So, I will restate again, if any of my readers knows of a great, non smoking, drama free home or condo or town home or large apartment I could rent, text me at 714 728 6037 with the city it is in and the address and who I speak with. Also, how much the rent is.
I appreciate that.
Until next time, have a wonderful day and do something good for yourself today. No matter what kind of job you have-it is good work, and you are making money, which is more than some are doing!

Fantastic Mexican Food, Beautiful Music and Fun at
Old Mexico Restaurant

My friend had been wanting to take me to the Old Mexico Restaurant for weeks now, and finally a big block of time was carved to enjoy and experience it.
On Saturday and Sunday they feature an amazing buffet with what appeared to be close to 40 menu items.
Approaching the entrance we could hear live Mariachi music serenading us. When I walked in I was impressed with how fantastic Mariachi Estrallas De America played the Latin American favorites I grew up hearing.
The music serenaded us and my pork tamales, refried beans and Mexican rice was made fresh to order, all dishes made from scratch.
When they played Maleguena by Ernesto Luecona, a song that was my dad’s favorite and mine-my dad I know danced in heaven.
I will be returning back to Old Mexico Restaurant where the service was great, the staff more than friendly and the food outstanding.

These will be replaced by photos I will take with my Nikon 24 MP on Sunday, April 13th, 2014
Here is a beautiful photo created by my good friend Nicola Jenkins. She sent it to me yesterday and I told her I would share it on one of my web sites….and lo and behold, here it is.
I am not sure how she created it or what camera took it and how she got the beautiful effect she did…this inquiring mind is asking and will let you know when I know.
When I saw her photo I wrote:
God is in the mountains and the sea
He is in the clouds and planets and those who are kind to me
God is in the sun and dazzling stars that shine
He nourishes the flowers and performs countless miracles-
God sings with every newborn who looks at his mother’s face
And prays all the lonlely kids in foster homes belong to a family and are blessed with love and grace.
God watches over the disabled and sends special angels to guide: Seeing eye dogs are some of those and hopes each will one day have a home.
God smiles when we give and do and act in ways that help the world.
It is as though we grabbed a bit of ourselves and offered it hands unfurled.

I hope all of the photo buffs that tune into PhotosThatInspireWords.wordpress.com never know money worries again, get good and stable jobs, have a great place to live they can afford, work less and enjoy more, have a sphere of supportive, positive people around them and keep seeing life through the eye of a Nikon camera. Those are my wishes and I also want the best for all of you too!
The photos of me were taken by Nick F. Belman in and around the Huntington Beach Pier area and promenade, and the food photos were taken by me- Paulette Le Pore Motzko.
