History in Focus

Il Torrione (Alassio, Italy)

Dawn and sunrise were wonderful at Alassio, a beautiful seaside town in Liguria (Northwest Italy). Il Torrione Saraceno, simply called “il Torrione” by locals, was built by the Republic of Genoa in the 16th century to defend the coast from pirates. Early in the morning colors change very fast and the clouds move constantly thanks to the breeze of the coast. A perfect opportunity to take many pictures of the same subject, making several different images.
