My good friend from back home, Kaitlin Newman, challenged me to do the seven day black and white photo challenge. It seemed like fun and it gave me an excuse to go out and take some photos. I finished the challenge last week, now I’m posting all of my black and white shots alongside their colour siblings.
When I first started learning photography I mostly shot in black and white–my school couldn’t afford the chemicals necessary to develop colour prints, so instead we did everything in black and white. Black and white photos seem to have a special sharpness to them; they have a completely different feeling than their coloured counterparts. After doing this challenge, I came to find that I really preferred a lot of these photos in black and white.
